
Anthony David Gonzalez (born February 27 in 1976) is an ex- American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. Gonzalez is believed to be one of the most significant tight ends of all time. He holds the NFL record for receiving yards and receptions as a tightener. He also ranks third in total receptions. Gonzalez spent his first 12 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, who were the first team to select him in the round of the 1997 NFL Draft. During his last five seasons, he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons. Since retiring in 2013, Gonzalez was an analyst for football on NFL on Prime Video and was previously employed by CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez finished his career with fourteen Pro Bowl selections, the most of a tight-end and second in the history of the league as well as receiving six first-team All-Pros. Gonzalez was famous for his toughness and ability to not fumble. He played in 272 games during the regular season and he only made two fumbles in 1,327 total touches. Gonzalez was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the year 2019.
